Mia Klein gained her reputation as one of America’s greatest winemakers the old fashioned way: She produced many of America’s greatest wines. Mia began making the wines at BOYANCI with the 2007 vintage of BOYANCI and Inspire and we are extraordinarily proud to work with this great American craftswoman.
With a degree in Enology from U.C. Davis, Mia began her career at Napa Valley’s Chappellet Winery under the tutelage of another of America’s great winemakers, Cathy Corison. From here Mia went on to make wines hailed as some of the finest from Napa Valley at Araujo, Spottswoode, Dalla Valle and Viader. She eventually went on to craft her own wines under the Selene label.
Part artist and part scientist, Mia is involved with BOYANCI winemaking from vineyard to bottling. With the BOYANCI bottling she helps us create a wine meant to be the stellar example of Napa strength and intensity tempered with a “Bordeaux” elegance. With Inspire Mia is charged with delivering that quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that highlights a svelte texture upon which dark, rich, intense fruit is layered, absent harsh tannins and heat. The results astound us, as do Mia’s skill and talents.
